NewsTrack Ready for Approval!

15 May 2022
Newcastle Speedway made great progress today with regards to the work being carried out on the track.
SCB Track Advisor Andy Meredith and Redcar’s Jonny Swales were in attendance and were a great help.
The track was ripped up, re-bladed, and then tyre packed tightly with plenty of water.
Newcastle unfortunately still can’t run next week (22nd May) after the meeting was postponed following SCB guidance. We still hope to resume racing at Brough Park on 29th May, against the Redcar Bears, once the SCB has given us the green light.
The Newcastle promotion would like to thank Andy and Jonny for their time and advice.
It was a great meeting last Sunday against Glasgow up to the curtailment after the 1st attempt of Heat 11.
The highlights video on our social media of the meeting shows some of the finest racing and also helps highlight that the track may have had a slight impairment on the 2nd bend. This was no where near bad enough to be classed as dangerous – as all of the crashes were on other areas of the circuit.
The track is now ready for SCB approval – and here’s to getting started again!
