14 November 20210

Friday night played host to Newcastle’s end of season awards at Kingston Park Stadium.

Alongside the presentations made to all of the Diamonds and the Gems for their efforts this season, the audience also got to meet one of the men behind the generous backing of our main team sponsor for next season.

Scot Ryan, who represents the Nellist family came along and made a short speech, introduced himself to the Diamonds family and joined in the celebrations.

Scot would like to add the following statement for the benefit of anyone who was unable to make it along on Friday,

🗣️ ‘After hearing of the potential closure of the Speedway earlier this year and seeing what it meant to the die hard loyal fan base and taking into account the many years of history the club has local businessman Mark Nellist has donated financial and Management support to the Club to ensure its sustainability.

The Nellist family own and operate several successful transport related businesses throughout the North East and support numerous Sporting Clubs and community initiatives. We look forward to working with Rob and his team to assist where possible to ensure the coming season is successful both on and off the track.’

In addition to this we also presented the all important rider of the season 2021 to the deserved winner Max Clegg Racing. Max made a short speech whilst collecting his award saying how he is already looking forward to being back on Newcastle Shale in 2022.

The management at Newcastle Speedway would like to thank everyone in attendance on Friday evening and we look forward to seeing you all at our Christmas party, back at South Gosforth Social Club on 10th December.

Tickets are on sale now priced at £10 for adults and £5 for children.
