British U-21 Qualifier at Newcastle called off.
It is with great regret that the promotion at Newcastle have been left with no choice but to call off Sunday’s U-21 qualifier at Newcastle Stadium.
Newcastle Promoter Rob Grant made the agonising decision this morning saying, “We believed that even going up against Euro 2020 and England’s opening game, we still would have been able to attract an ample crowd to come and support some of the best of the U-21s Britain has to offer right now, however, that has ceased to be the case.
Ticket sales are much lower than we originally anticipated and it has left us with no choice but to call off the meeting as it would not be financially viable and in Newcastle Speedway’s best interests to run it.
I have always said from the beginning that protecting Newcastle Speedway and ensuring our longevity is my number one goal, and unfortunately anything that threatens this has to be addressed.
This has turned out to be the case with the forthcoming meeting on Sunday, so with much regret, has left us no with no other option.”
Newcastle Speedway has ensured that for the limited few who have purchased tickets for Sunday, an automatic full refund will be given back to the card that the original payment was made off.
Fans are reminded that advance only tickets for Newcastle’s next home league double-header meeting against Leicester are still on sale, with limited places available.
